  4. This document contains information about setting up the Windows 95 
  5. Resource Kit utilities.

  8. 1.0  SETUP FOR WINDOWS 95 RESOURCE KIT UTILITIES
  9. ************************************************

  11. IMPORTANT: These utilities are only for computers running Windows 95.
  12. The files on the Windows 95 Resource Kit disks are compressed.
  13. You must use the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel
  14. to install these tools.
  15.  
  16. The sample schedule file (DEPLOY.MPT) requires Microsoft Project.
  17. If this software is not installed on your computer, you can used the
  18. Setup program in the PLAN folder to install a version of Microsoft
  19. Project for viewing and modifying this file.

  22. >>To set up the Windows 95 Resource Kit utilities:

  24. 1. In Windows 95, click the Add/Remove Programs option 
  25.    in Control Panel.
  26. 2. Click the Windows Setup tab. 
  27. 3. Click the Have Disk button.
  28. 4. In the Install From Disk dialog box, specify the path 
  29.    to the Windows 95 Resource Kit utilities, and then click OK.
  30. 5. In the Have Disk dialog box, click to place a check mark beside 
  31.    each option you want to install. Then click the Install button.

  33. >>To remove one or more Windows 95 Resource Kit utilities:

  35. 1. In Windows 95, click the Add/Remove Programs option

  37. 2. In the Install/Uninstall dialog box, click the item you want

  99.     except the user's name. It also installs Windows 95 
  100.     Accessibility features, and can be used to customize 
  101.     other aspects of Windows 95 Setup.
  102.   - DEFAULT.INF allows user input during Windows 95 Setup, 
  103.     but proposes a series of alternate defaults.
  104.   - INIPREP.INF describes methods of removing and replacing 
  105.     settings in INF files.
  106.   - MINBATCH.INF contains the minimum script required 
  107.     for automatic installation when upgrading from earlier versions 
  108.     of Windows.
  109.   - MSNET.INF contains a script for installing and configuring 
  110.     components for Microsoft networking.

  112.     the Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks and related 
  113.     networking components.
